Our Picks for Super Bowl XLIII

In response to an overwhelming number of threatening e-mails, it’s time to make our Super Bowl picks:

Phred:

I’m getting sick of picking San Diego and being wrong, so my AFC representative will come from the other coast.  The STEELERS looked poised to do it again. They are solid on both sides of the line, Ben is steady and sworn off of motorcycles, and Santonio will have a break-out year.  True, they have the Pillsbury Dough Boy for a back-up at QB, but he’s not without experience as a starter. An older Indianapolis Colts without an ‘O’ line and Brady’s injury pretty much take these two out of a trip to Tampa.  Runner-up, Saints.

The NFC rep will come from the right coast also.  Even though the Cowboys have the most talent they don’t have the most coach - I’ve got to go with Andy Reid and the EAGLES.  Donovan, et al. have been there, they got another guy in the backfield named Westbrook, a rebuilt receiver corps, and a very tough ‘D’.  Runner-up, Packers.

Final, it’s Philly’s year.

The Babe and Mystic the Wonder Cat:

Amazing as it is, we agree with Phred—an
all-Pennsylvania Super Bowl.  We pick the Eagles to win it all.
